We are delighted to announce our next LAP seminar in 2023.
Our Guest will be Dr. Elke Pieper from the Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung
She studied chemistry in Berlin, Germany from 1999 to 2005 and gained her PhD in chemical biology at Humboldt University of Berlin. From 2010 to 2013, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Biology and Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, US, in the field of bimolecular research. She then started as a senior scientific officer at German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, working in the field of novel tobacco products research and risk assessment. Now she is the deputy head of unit Product Materials and Nanotechnology.
Our LAP series is an opportunity to learn about new professions and maybe make contacts for your own career. On the other hand it is to show you how other PhD students found their way after their PhD. How initiative, coincidence and a bit of luck play a big role.
